Cement over lime. Gypsum over breathable plaster. Damp courses injected into solid walls that were never designed for them. The damage is expensive to reverse.
Bramley & Stone was founded to change that. We saw a gap between general builders who lack specialist knowledge and survey firms that diagnose but never carry out the work. We do both under one roof, and to one standard.
We specialise in the prevention of Damp & Decay and the use of breathable materials in traditional buildings.
Every project starts with a thorough survey. We identify what work needs to be done, provide a clear written report in plain English, and carry out the works using breathable, traditional materials. We prioritise long-term building health over surface treatment. Always.
We are not a one-man band. We are not a national franchise. We are a specialist regional firm with systems, standards, and accountability.
Our company remains founder-led. Our founder, Mike, is actively involved in surveys, standards, and the overall direction of every project. That is deliberate. It ensures the principles we were built on, clarity, craftsmanship, and doing things correctly, are embedded in everything we deliver. It is never our plan to dilute our human service to become a national chain.
Most of our clients come to us after months of conflicting advice and cold, damp rooms that never improve. After working with us, that changes.
The difference goes beyond the walls. Uncertainty turns into confidence. They understand what was happening, why, and know it has been fixed correctly.
Based in Hampshire. Serving homeowners across Southampton, Bournemouth, Guildford, Salisbury, Dorchester, Somerset, and surrounding communities.
